Teijin Monofilament is the market-leader in the field of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) monofilaments for paper machine clothing and other technical textiles, accounting for more than half the world market.
Alongside regular process modification, Teijin has developed a unique technique for the manufacture of high-performance fine monofilaments with diameters ranging from 0.048 to 0.130mm. Costing $6 million, this project – the biggest single investment in Teijin Monofilament's history – responds to a general market trend towards smaller diameters for use in fine filtration and PMC applications.
